Time and Place

The pot bellied stove had been lit and the wood was ablaze.
The room was toasty.. Come on in, sit a spell.

I went to work immediately on the
inside walls. This is a small segment
of what is to follow.

This is a tin type that is in remarkable condition.
Yes, it is color. (hand tinted color)
I tried the flash....For a second, I thought the
ghost had escaped the picture. The flash
illuminated the outline of the girl in silver.
I then shot it with available light.
She held really still for me. I wonder if
she had any idea someone would be taking
her picture again in 100 years.

(Only, If you listen, you can hear.)

The door creaked slightly as you walk in to the store.
The floor complains as you move along toward the bar stools.

From the back of the store someone calls out.
Mornin', Yaal come on in , A'll be wit'cha soon as ah git
these nails weighed. Garrett's chicken coop got knocked
over las' night when his mule got spooked by that boy a
come sparkin' Miss Ella in one of them noisy buggies. What
are these children thinkin' of? Anyhow?!
That new percolator some guy invented is still plugged in,
getcha a cup if-in you want. It ain't as good as good as fire
boiled , but, in a pinch, if you know what I mean.
